Josué "JQ" Quiñones

Josué Quiñones, also known as JQ, is an international speaker featured at the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) national convention and has been acknowledged as a Career Champion and Inspirational Young Latino.

JQ has empowered and motivated the minds of thousands to take action and control of their stories including high school seniors, college students, and professionals. He was chosen by the National Urban League to serve on the board of a committee awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors seeking to further their education; and has partnered with the United Way to organize a service project for over 200 people as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service.

A Counselor and Social Worker by training, JQ is an experienced Educator and Life Coach serving as an Academic Counselor with the Educational Opportunity Program at Binghamton University in New York. He is highly regarded as a “relatable, informative, and humorous speaker" and has received recognition for his consecutive years of tireless effort, dedication, and service to underrepresented students.

Born and raised in the rough and rugged Hunts Point area of the South Bronx, New York; JQ attended college as a way to escape the drugs, prostitution, and gang violence that were part of everyday life. However while in school, he chose to lead a less promising lifestyle. In the face of fear and adversity, it is the principles he shares in his programs that have led him on a path to success. As he frequently shares, his life experience has led him to truly believe, what you actively and consistently engage in, or surround yourself with, is a determining factor of success. With that, he coined the phrase: "Success is not a habit...It's a Lifestyle!"

For fun, JQ likes to collect sneakers, do personal impressions, beat-box, and rap. In 2008, he was part of the opening act for Grammy nominated artist, Pitbull.
